I've always enjoyed working with Ronnie Rice. He challenged me to think of a different perspective. I learned that situations are not as obvious as they seem. Even though, we didn't always agree, we respected each other. We had engaging and debating conversations. Ronnie would often take the Devil's Advocate approach. This would force me to think of alternative solutions.

Ronnie's story is very compelling and very authentic. He has been able to use the principles in his book as he does speaking and training in the K-12 educational school system's after school programs. The book takes you on a journey of ups and downs in Ronnie's life that will allow you to reflect on your own life experiences. I highly recommend this book.

Turn lemons into lemonade!!! God doesn’t make mistakes!
I purchased this book out of support for Ronnie, who I’ve known since we were young children. Reading this book took me on a great journey back in time and those who grew up in the Waukegan, IL area, will know what I’m talking about when they read this book. Ronnie was able to turn early life incidents into lessons he practices and teaches today as an adult. I highly recommend this book to all from the Waukegan area and even those who grew up in other areas of the country similar to Waukegan, because it’s relatable. Beyond that, people from all walks of life can learn something from this book too. It certainly has helped me with my future plans!!!

Exceeded Expectations!!! When Phoenix Rise, definitely rose to the occasion for a good read!
I purchased this book for a personal read and to support the new author not knowing what to expect. I thought it was going to be more of a self-help, basic principles of effective leadership, strictly from the business or Corporate world perspective, and I got so-o-o much more. Congratulations to Ronnie Rice on a well written book, identifying life lessons from his personal experience both in Corporate America and his own life's journey- from Alabama to the South Side of Waukegan to South Carolina. I learned so much about him and the challenges he and his family faced from the death of loved ones and how they persevered. His willingness to be transparent took bravery and made this book even more engaging. I found myself highlighting and underlining throughout the book I most definitely recommend this book to my family and friends and to others who enjoy reading. To those who don't like reading, once you start reading When Phoenix Rise, you can't stop! Seriously, this is a page turner from start to finish! Ronnie, I am inspired by your work. My goal is to assist you in achieving the level of success you seek. Certified PHR (Professional in Human Resources) Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster University’s George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology. Bachelor of Science in Workforce, Education and Development (i.e., Designing Training programs) from Southern Illinois University. Certified ATM-Bronze, Toastmasters International Speakers Organization. Motivational Speaker (former member of NCAA Speakers Bureau). Certified sHRBP (Strategic HR Business Partner). Ten years HR-Employee Relations. Previous experience as an Area Account Manager in field sales for a Fortune 500 company. Mentored/Coached many individuals over the years. Very conscientious and a good listener. Published Author. Formerly certified for a company-sponsored Mentoring program. Having experienced being mentored (coached) changed the trajectory of my career. Raised three adult millennials who’ve all graduated college.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Altruism (i.e., concern for the welfare of others). In my humble opinion, there is no greater satisfaction in life than giving back by assisting others. It is both motivating and inspiring for me when I am able to help others find what he/she is seeking in their career/life. Positive, encouraging, and flattering feedback from so many through the years as an informal ‘coach,’ motivated me to make my services available to interested individuals from a more formal and professional standpoint.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
In 2023, I partnered with a South Carolina healthcare system to design a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program for its more than two-thousand employees. It took four months.
